1 Chronicles 22:5

5For David said, "Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and glory throughout all lands. I will therefore make preparation for it."So David provided materials in great quantity before his death.

David was not allowed to build the Temple because of all the blood he had shed in warfare. God would give his son a peaceful reign in which to build it. But David knew that if it was to be a house for the Creator, it must be exceedingly magnificent. So David began amassing all the gold, silver, bronze, timber and stone that would be required to build it.

Today, those who have received Jesus as the Lord of their life are the temple of God. God prepared us by making a way for us to receive His sanctifying Spirit (Titus 3:5; 1Peter 1:2). It is the Spirit of God that is at work refining us and shaping us to be that exceedingly magnificent temple that is fit to be the dwelling of God.

When you look at the church today, you may wonder if the work will ever be completed. Indeed, if we look at ourselves we may wonder if the Spirit will ever be done with us. But we know the Master Craftsman who anointed the builders of the Temple Solomon built is more than capable of finishing what He starts.

Don't be discouraged if it seems to be taking a long time. When we see Him face to face the work will be finished in an instant. Every stone will fit with every other stone. There will be complete unity. Nothing will be out of place as is so often the case today. Nothing will defile this temple, for God will see to that (Revelation 21:27).

Remember: Remember to keep the vision for yourself and for others. The person you are upset with today will one day be God's glorious work of art.
