Ephesians 1:7

⁷In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace . . .

Every one of us has crossed God's line too many times. The justice of God demands that a penalty be paid for our transgressions. God cannot ignore evil. He must deal with it. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). That is how seriously God hates evil. We should be glad He does, otherwise heaven would not be the wonderful place that it is.

Jesus came to pay the just penalty we deserve with His own life. Blood that paid our sin debt was His sinless life's blood. Jesus came to redeem us because of the riches of God's grace. Think of how great and abundant the riches of God's grace must be for Him to come and pay the penalty for our sins against Him. The One who hates evil to an extent we can't fathom took the sins of the world upon Himself during the three hours of darkness on the cross.

If that act came out of the riches of God's grace, how great that treasure chest of grace must be! When we think we are too bad for Jesus to accept us, we are correct. But then we get a glimpse of that abundance of grace that we have received time and time again. We realize God's grace has made a way to be forgiven through the blood of Jesus. His grace will finish the work He started when we see Him face to face.

Consider: The last verse of a hymn by Annie Flint: "His love has no limits, His grace has no measure, His power no boundary known unto men; For out of His infinite riches in Jesus He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again."
