Romans 8:32

³²He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

Those who have accepted the work Jesus accomplished for them on the cross should realize the implications of this verse. If God would allow His one and only Son to suffer and die for you, is there any good thing He would withhold from you? The redeemed soul recognizes that good things are not material blessings that would distract us from our relationship with God. Good things are spiritual blessings in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 1:3). Those good things draw us deeper into a love relationship with God.

This reasoning goes right along with Jesus telling the disciples that the Father will not withhold good things from His children when they ask (Luke 11:13). We have access to unlimited resources. You can be certain that if the thing you ask for in prayer is good for you, you will receive it. If you don't receive it, you can know it wasn't good for you.

The apostle is also pointing out the depths of God's love for each of us. He loves each of us so much that He would pay such a costly price to redeem us. He never changes, so that love will be the same forever. When He grants your request, it is not because you deserve it, but because His heart is gracious and loving. Stop for a moment and think of what you really need to draw closer to Him or to serve Him in a more effective way. Take it to Him in prayer and know that if it is good for you, He will graciously give it.

Consider: Our hearts should always be assured by the extent of the Father's love for us.
